近年発展の著しい再生医療研究において、消化器再生は強いニーズがありながらその多様な機能を持つ臓器特性から困難な分野の一つである。その中でオーテル博士は肝臓に移植した細胞の再生に関する詳細な研究結果を発表し、肝再生研究に非常に大きなインパクトを与えた。
●演者略歴
2000年ドイツ、University of Leipzigにて博士号を取得、2001年よりAlbert Einstein Collegeに移り現在に至る。Gastroenterology、Stem Cells、Hepatologyを始めとした肝再生に関する数々の重要な論文を発表し、肝stem/progenitor cellの移植とrepopulationに関する研究において世界の第一人者である。
